DESCRIPTION:Join us for the next Pots + Pints evening – our monthly ceramic workshop just for adults to get together\, get a little merry and play with clay! \nFor new makers: you’ll be provided a lump of clay\, tools and the basic hand-building techniques to make whatever your heart desires – let your imaginations go wild! You could go functional – making your new fav mug\, vase\, candlestick holder; or go sculptural making figurines and ornaments – clay’s potential is limitless! \nAnd don’t worry\, local ceramicists Faye Munroe and Snail Adams will be on hand to assist you in realising your wackiest ideas and ensuring your creations are kiln-worthy! \nNo experience is required\, just bring yourself\, an experimental attitude and your favourite tipple\, alcoholic and non-alcoholic welcome! (and maybe wear some clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty) \nAfter the event we’ll take your creations to get fired in a kiln\, where they’ll become a lot stronger and long-lasting! Pots + Pints evenings will be running once a month and we aim to have all creations fired and returned to you at the following session\, however there may sometimes be a backlog so please allow a turn around time of 4-8weeks! \nYou can either simply collect your bisque-fired pots or\, if you choose to glaze them which will give them a bit of colour and make them shiny\, foodsafe and water-tight\, you can either book on for a glazing session\, where you will have a rainbow of underglazes to decorate your pots as you wish\, or\, for a more affordable option\, you can choose one of our readymade glazes and we will glaze your work for you. DESCRIPTION:Carl’s work can be seen in museums such as the V&A and Science as well as around the world in countries like Germany\, India and the USA. With his most recent piece\, a bust of the late Queen\, featuring in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Parade in 2022. He is a trained engineer and was always comfortable manipulating material and that is what has led to him now being known as the ‘Wire man’.\nCarl has long ties with Luton based UK Centre for Carnival Arts (UKCCA)\, with one of his iconic pieces on permanent display at their centre on St Mary’s Road.  \nJoin Carl for a masterclass exploring work from his 50 year career and learn the traditional techniques of wire bending and papier-mâché.  \nFor more information about Carl Gabriel’s work visit\, www.carnivalarts.org.uk
