Organisers also extend their thanks to event partner Frasers Plus Luton for hosting the daytime activities\, and to Shade 7 for delivering live storytelling sessions and a free book giveaway. \nThe celebration will begin with free community workshops from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Frasers Plus Luton (shopping centre)\, where participants of all ages can take part in lantern making\, calligraphy\, and storytelling sessions. As part of the event\, the community will create 150 lanterns representing 150 local heroes\, recognising communities who have made a meaningful contribution to Luton. \nThe day will culminate in a community parade at 6:00pm\, travelling from Market Hill to St. George’s Square\, where the handmade lanterns will illuminate the town in a powerful display of unity and pride. DESCRIPTION:Love Luton is delighted to announce the 2025 Runfest for 12th October 2025. We are initially going live with a 5k and 10k. For those who have previously taken part\, there will be some tweaks to the courses to support the growth in numbers and the slightly refreshed courses will be shared next year. In addition\, we are exploring if we can introduce a new half marathon course. Unfortunately\, we cannot use our current course in the Luton Hoo as the estate is undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme. Further information will be announced in the new year. \nRest assured\, we will start and finish in the town centre\, and the courses will take you through award-winning parks and on our traffic-free\, closed roads\, ensuring a safe and enjoyable running experience. \nAll participants will receive a souvenir medal\, and there will be prizes for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place for males and females in all races. The Danny McCormack Memorial Young Person’s trophy will also return in 2025.
