DesiFest Luton 2026 is a spectacular, award-winning celebration of arts, culture, heritage and community, marking the 150th anniversary of Luton Borough. As one of the region’s leading multicultural festivals, DesiFest shines a spotlight on the historic and ongoing contribution of South Asian communities to Luton’s cultural, civic and creative life, while bringing together audiences from all backgrounds to celebrate the town’s diversity and shared future.
Taking place in the heart of Wardown Park, DesiFest 2026 will present an ambitious programme of contemporary and traditional arts, showcasing leading UK and international artists alongside exceptional local talent. Through music, dance, spoken word, visual arts, film, exhibitions, outdoor arts and carnival-inspired performances, the festival will explore themes of identity, belonging, heritage and cultural exchange.
This special anniversary one day edition of DesiFest 2026 will feature exciting new commissions and community-led projects, including the Luton Time Machine exhibition, United Steps for Peace procession, and Contemporary British Asian Narratives, celebrating how heritage continues to shape future generations. Young visitors can also enjoy family-friendly creative activities through LiL Desi’s Crafty Corner. Our wellbeing enthusiast visitors can experiences session Bhangra Fit, Thi Chi, yoga, mindfulness and holistic health sessions at Sekhmet’s Sanctuary.
