The bunting is up, the ovens are pre-heated, and the most famous tent in Britain is about to be pitched by St Andrew’s Players at The Library Theatre. Great British Bake Off The Musical officially arrives next week, bringing with it all the warmth, wit, and high-stakes drama of the beloved television phenomenon.
The production follows eight amateur bakers as they sing and stir their way through a series of “Technical Challenges” and “Showstoppers.” From the fiercely competitive Izzy to the lovable East-End matron Babs, and the touching father-daughter team of Ben and Lily, the cast represents a cross-section of Britain, all hoping to avoid the dreaded “soggy bottom.”
