St Georges Day is an annual celebration of England’s patron saint, St George.
This St George’s Day, prepare for a day of medieval action and adventure at Market Hill. With a variety of activities whatever your age, there’s free fun for everyone!
Activities on the day:
- medieval musicians, Peg and Myal (performing at intervals throughout the day)
- Sword of Penda Saxon re-enactor (including a medieval cooking display)
- Swords of Penda warrior re-enactor (demonstrating combat styles)
- dressing up tent (including princess crowns, metal armour and knights’ helmets)
- cork-tipped cross bows
- family joust
- archaeology trays
- King John’s treasure search (use nets to try and find his missing treasure in water troughs)
- art workshop (with images inspired by medieval Luton)
- inflatable swords, knight training and games
- calligraphy workshop
- giant play tent (with medieval inspired toys, knights, castles, plus more)
- craft table
- a display on medieval Luton
