The tour will focus on St Mary’s many significant Medieval features -it’s tiny and rare Barnard Chantry (possibly a “Leper Chapel”); its Baptistry, one of the finest font canopies in England; and the graceful Wenlock Screen and chapel. We will look at how the space was used in worship, what worship looked like, as well as how the church related to the wider town and nation. There will be plenty of time to ask questions as well as to take pictures both inside and outside the church.
