The long-awaited Power Court is finally happening! Luton Town’s brand new stadium is becoming a reality, with building work starting this summer.

The 25,000-seater ground at Power Court is intended to host its first competitive match at the start of the 2028/29 season – three and a half years from now, after 119 years at Kenilworth Road.

Turkish construction giants Limak International – the team behind Barcelona’s Camp Nou revamp – will be leading the build right in our town centre. But Power Court is more than just football.

The development will bring new homes, a hotel, and other plans to the town centre. Basically, it’s about creating jobs and getting people back into central Luton, not just on match days.

“This is a transformative opportunity for the club, helping us realise our ambitions to be a Premier League club again one day. We are united with the supporters on the need for a new stadium to move our Luton Town forward and we are delighted to be moving into this exciting construction phase.”

Gary Sweet, Luton Town's Chief Executive

The good news? Everything fans love about Kenilworth Road will carry over – those tight seats close to the pitch, the offset tunnel, even the approach to the ground. But this time with better facilities and improved access for everyone.

“It has been a long road to this point, but we are so excited at the prospect of welcoming our supporters to Power Court in the near future and the ability to extend our support base and enhance our unique match-day experience,” Sweet adds.

Piling work starts this summer, with the first match at Power Court pencilled in for the start of the 2028/29 season. The dream? To be back in the Premier League by then and christen that new stadium with a top-flight match.
