Luton town centre has kept its Purple Flag flying high for the fifth year running, showing it’s still hitting the mark for a safe and enjoyable night out.
The Purple Flag accreditation recognises towns that successfully manage their evening and nightlife between 5pm and 5am. Luton remains one of just 100 places worldwide to hold this status, joining other well-managed destinations across the globe.
The town earned praise for its growing number of restaurants and venues, plus the way local organisations work together to keep the streets safe and welcoming. A special video capturing Luton’s nightlife buzz also helped seal the deal.
“Getting this accreditation again is brilliant news for Luton. It shows all our work to make the town centre safer is really paying off.”
Behind the scenes, Luton BID has been teaming up with various local partners to keep standards high. It’s not just about having good places to eat and drink – it’s about creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable enjoying a night out.
Keeping hold of the Purple Flag for five years straight shows Luton’s ongoing commitment to offering a proper night out while keeping everyone safe. The accreditation, similar to the Blue Flag scheme for beaches, has been recognising excellence in evening entertainment districts for nearly 15 years.
