Get ready to roll the dice and explore Luton like never before! The brand-new Monopoly Luton edition has officially been unveiled, and it’s packed with our town’s most loved landmarks.

The exciting launch of the Luton Monopoly edition took place at the Luton DART station today (12 April), bringing together the Mayor, councillors, charity representatives, business owners, and Monopoly executives to celebrate this special moment for the town.

During the event, a giant version of the Luton Monopoly board was unveiled, providing an exciting opportunity to get a first look at the selected Luton landmarks. The iconic Mr. Monopoly also made an appearance, officially declaring Luton as “Passing GO!”

Luton Town FC, our pride and joy, has claimed the top ‘Mayfair’ spot on the board – a well-deserved nod to their recent rise to the Premier League. Luton Airport also made it to the top, landing on the ‘Park Lane’ spot, showing just how important our town is as a travel hub.

Last year, the makers at Winning Moves UK, who created this special edition, asked locals to vote for the Luton landmarks they wanted to see featured. And boy, did we deliver!

From The Hat Factory to Luton Town Hall, and even our beloved flamingos in Hat Gardens, this special Monopoly game is a true celebration of what makes Luton unique. With over 30 landmarks featured, it’s a real testament to our town’s rich history and spirit.

The Community Chest cards have been swapped out for three amazing local charities: Keech Hospice Care, Animals at Risk Shelter, and the Luton Foodbank. By featuring these charities, the game is not only great fun but also showcases Luton’s big heart. After all, we were voted one of the UK’s most generous towns!

“Seeing the places I love on Luton’s very own Monopoly board makes me immensely proud. It perfectly captures our town’s kindness, generosity, creativity, and big dreams. This game truly brings the spirit of our community to life.”

Phyl Rainey, Step Forward Luton ambassador

“With all the spotlight on Luton, opportunities like this are now coming our way, and we couldn’t be happier. It’s brilliant to see wonderful spots like Wardown Park and my local Leagrave station on the board. Now we have a game that showcases the many beautiful places right here in our town.”

Mac Pajka, Co-Deputy Chair of the Step Forward Luton Ambassador board
