Throughout 2026, Luton is celebrating a major milestone – 150 years of borough status. Throughout the year this is being marked by more than
150 events taking place across the town led by Luton Council, Luton Rising, Step Forward Luton and wider partners. These events will be anchored by a major showpiece weekend, comprising of two ticketed events presented by a headline sponsor: Luton Rising.

Saturday 12 September, Stockwood Park

Luton Rising presents Party in the Park will be a one-day live music festival throughout the afternoon and evening for a capacity of up to 13,000 attendees. The event will be headlined by the spectacular Kaiser Chiefs with special guests The Feeling and The Hoosiers. Local legends JW Paris and Olivia Lynn will also be taking the stage, alongside DJ sets from Rickie & Melvin, with more to be announced. The event is a paid-ticket event for attendees, with discounted rates for local residents.

90% of the attendees will be 13+, with the vast majority expected to be adults who are Luton residents (within the LU1 – LU4 postal codes). This event is also anticipated to have a large number of attendees from neighbouring counties.

Sunday 13 September, Stockwood Park

Luton Rising presents Proms in the Park event will be held in the evening of the second day and will feature a full 65-piece orchestra from Luton Music Service and alumni, performing well-known favourites from Last Night of the Proms, as well as a series of individual solo, classical performances. This will be a fantastic ending to the weekend of events, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

We expect 3,000 to 4,000 in attendance for this event. This is a paid-ticket event for attendees. Proms in the Park has an expected demographic mainly of families and those aged 35+. The vast majority of attendees are anticipated to be Luton residents (within the LU1 – LU4 postal codes).

Tickets for Luton Rising presents Party in the Park went on sale on 8 June 2026. Tickets for Luton Rising presents Proms in the Park went on sale on 3 July 2026. Overall, we expect over 15,000 attendees over the whole weekend.
