High Town watering hole declared one of the ‘best pubs in the UK’

Tucked away in the heart of High Town, The Bricklayers Arms, affectionately known by locals as The Brickies, has long been one of Luton’s best-kept secrets. Steeped in history, the pub first appeared in licensing records in 1824 and has been welcoming customers through its doors for more than 200 years. Today, it remains a much-loved community hub, serving a carefully curated selection of real ales and bringing together people from all walks of life, including generations of Hatters supporters who gather there before matches.

But The Brickies is much more than a traditional pub. Over the years, it has established itself as a key part of Luton’s thriving cultural scene, regularly hosting live music, community events and Pride in Luton celebrations. Later this month, it will team up with fellow local favourite The Castle for Luton Aid, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting local causes and bringing people together. Its popular mobile bar, The Stray Dog, has also become a familiar sight at some of the town’s biggest events, including June’s Market Hill Live.

Being recognised by a national publication is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, passion and community spirit that have made The Bricklayers Arms such a special place.
