Luton’s got another reason to hold its head high! Our very own London Luton Airport (LLA) has just been crowned European Airport of the Year in the 10-25 million passengers category at the ACI EUROPE Best Airport Awards.

Beating out tough competition from airports in Alicante and Brussels, LLA brought home the gold at a ceremony in Istanbul. It’s a big win that puts Luton on the map as a top-tier travel hub.

But that’s not all. This award comes hot on the heels of LLA being named the UK’s best airport by Condé Nast Traveller readers in 2023. Seems like our local airport is on quite the winning streak!

What’s more, LLA is owned by Luton Council’s business Luton Rising, which puts community benefit first. For every passenger that flies through LLA, 53p goes straight back into local projects. That’s 20 times more than any other UK airport!

So next time you’re jetting off from Luton, remember you’re flying from an award-winning airport that’s not just connecting Luton to the world, but giving back to our town too.
