Over the weekend local Irish band, Missing the Ferry, released their latest single Luton You’re a Lady and premiered the music video, which perfectly claps back at recent negative headlines about our town.
The video, created by Two Side Studios and Alleged Productions, is filmed all around Luton. The band even performed the song at The Painter’s Arms in High Town last year for an audience of locals as one of the scenes in the video.
At an event to premier the video on Sunday 15 February, the band said they wrote this song as a “love letter to Luton” as they were tired of defending their town whenever people asked where they were from.
Newspapers you keep knocking us… But we’re standing fighting still!
Recently, there have been more negative headlines circulating about our town. This song is the perfect answer to the haters, and we couldn’t agree more with the message of the song that Luton is a resilient and diverse town, with far more to offer than meets the eye.
The song certainly is a love letter too, naming several iconic locations like the river Lea, Farley Hill, Arndale Market and High Town. The video does the same with its settings, as we see the band in the shops in Bury Park, outside Kenilworth Road, in High Town and the town centre.
‘Luton You’re A Lady’ music video is available to watch on YouTube, and the song is available on all streaming platforms.
