School’s officially out for the summer this week and there’s plenty of things to do with the kids right here in Luton during the holidays. We’ve picked out a selection of unmissable highlights to add to your calendar.
Summer outdoor cinema

Yes, the outdoor cinema is back again for the third time this year! Hat Gardens is the place to be on Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend.
Grab a beanbag or a deckchair and watch your family favourites by the River Lea: ‘Inside Out 2’ at 3pm, ‘Paddington in Peru’ at 5pm, ending with ‘Wicked’ at 7pm.

Square play day
Saturday 26 July | 11am to 4pm | St George’s Square
A day full of mini golf, circus skills, soft archery and more right in the heart of town. Young budding artists can even draw pictures on the stone in the pavement chalking workshop. No need to book, just come along on the day.

Luton Point’s Festival of Fun

Luton Point have a packed schedule of fun family activities every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the holidays. With the theme changing each week, there’ll always be something new for the kids whilst you shop.
And it all kicks off next week with the School’s Out Party! For those needing a quieter experience, SEN Sundays will offer calm and inclusive activities from 10am to 12pm. Be sure to explore the Luton Landmarks & Legends Trail and claim your prize!

Storytelling on the steps
Every Friday from 25 July to 29 August | 3pm | Hat Gardens
A returning favourite in ‘A Children’s Story’ will be back every Friday afternoon in Hat Gardens treating us to more captivating tales and engaging storytelling.

Luton BID’s parklet

Luton BID are providing us again with a lovely space to meet up or soak up the sun in the town centre with their pop up parklet.
There’s loads going on for children too – free face painting sessions, a dinosaur puppet meet & greet and a chance to handle some real life creepy crawlies!

Taleshaker Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from 29 July to 26 August | 12pm, 1pm & 2pm | Market Hill
What better way to burn off all that excess energy than a dance party? Bring your little ones down to Market Hill every Tuesday from 29 July to 26 August for imaginative play and lively interactive dance parties led by the popular NGYT Taleshakers.

Stockwood Discovery Golf
Every day until 29 August | 11am to 5pm | Stockwood Discovery Centre
A brand-new course has arrived at Stockwood for this summer only! Get ready for 9 holes of mini golf fun with all the family.
Keep an eye out for the many tributes to Luton’s heritage and rich history – Vauxhall car parts, straw boaters and more.

Summer at Stockwood

It’s not just mini-golf going on at Stockwood, The Culture Trust have a whole host of things to do this year. Journey through a labyrinth of colour and light with Colourscape and experience amazing visuals and sounds on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August only.
There’s also family theatre shows and a Living History Festival where you’ll be able to take a glimpse into the past with medieval knights and historical reenactors. Take a look at the dates & times of the whole programme.

The Orange Picture Club: The Incredibles & superhero costume workshop
Monday 28 July | 3.30pm | Luton Library Theatre
