As the holy month of Ramadan begins, Luton is buzzing with excitement for another unforgettable Eid al-Fitr celebration. And our Muslim community is inviting everyone to be part of this year’s festivities.
The magical moment of Eid arrives with the sighting of the new moon after Ramadan. This year, we’re looking at Sunday 30 March for the big day – though keep your eyes on the skies, as the moon has the final say! From fireworks to sunset feasts, Eid celebrations will light up our community.
Here’s what we know so far is happening in Luton this Eid-al-Fitr:
Inspire Eid
Stockwood Park | Sunday 30 March – Monday 31 March | 12 – 8pm
The UK’s most affordable Eid Festival returns this year to Stockwood Park, welcoming families from all communities. Enjoy discounted rides, stage performances, exciting activities, and a wide array of world food. There’s something for everyone! Keep an eye on the Inspire Eid Facebook page for updates on the exact event dates.

1 Eid Festival
Wardown Park | On Eid day & the day after | 1pm – 9.30pm
Enjoy a fantastic celebration at the 1 Eid Festival with plenty of entertainment for the whole family including a funfair, circus performers and fire jugglers; happening on the following day also. Don’t miss out on the fireworks finale in Popes Meadow, on Eid day only!

Chand Raat in the Square
St George’s Square | Saturday 29 March | 12pm – 9pm
1Eid and Jannah Events and teaming up to bring you Chand Raat in the Square. Find Chand Raat stalls at St George’s Square for a community iftar and an opportunity for shopping and henna.

Ramadan light fixture
Hat Gardens | Throughout Ramadan
Head down to Hat Gardens this Ramadan and see Luton BID’s vibrant light installation. It’s open to everyone – whether you’re celebrating Ramadan or just want to enjoy a beautiful display. Catch a great photo and soak up the festive atmosphere leading up to EID in the heart of Luton town centre.
