Luton based charity Music 24, has put our town on the map by recording at Abbey Road Studios – the famous London music studio where artists like The Beatles and Pink Floyd created their legendary albums.
What an exciting milestone for Music24 as they mark their 10th year of filling our community with music and joy! 2024 is shaping up to be truly special for this amazing charity as they announce the release of their new song.
Bringing together 60 local people, they recorded their own song called ‘Sing Together’, showing what our community is all about – supporting each other and proving that everyone has talent to share.
The song captures the feeling of acceptance and belonging found in Music24’s sessions. The group included our neighbours who live with learning disabilities, dementia and mental health challenges, alongside their carers and families.
“I knew that reaching our 10th Anniversary was a huge achievement for our team who go above and beyond to bring music and happiness to people’s lives every day. Creating and recording this song was a way in which we could celebrate what we do and why we do it.
Witnessing the love and connection felt in the Studio on the day we went to Abbey Road, was a life-affirming moment. ‘Sing Together’ is everything that Music24 stands for and we can’t wait for the world to hear it!”
The group recorded three songs in total, including their own composition ‘Sing Together’, Bob Marley’s uplifting ‘Three Little Birds’, and a winter version of ‘Silent Night’.
Music24 currently helps over 450 local people each year and aims to reach 800 people in the next two years. The songs are available from 15 November on Amazon, iTunes, or as a CD through www.music24.org.uk.
This achievement shows how Luton’s charities are leading the way in making arts and music accessible to everyone in our community. And we are so proud!
